The Restaurant & Bars
Blue Lagoon Fine Dining
Steps away from the gentle, lapping surf, under a billowing white canopy, on an oceanfront deck. The Blue Lagoon Fine Dining experience delivers a romantic dining event for discerning couples. A multi-course menu highlights the bounty of the islands and the sea alike. Elegantly prepared tableside by one of the experienced Chefs, these delightfully presented special dishes are fine dining defined. This adults-only dining event is only offered several times per week, so do not miss out on this exclusive opportunity for premium dining at a premier location.
Te Vaka Restaurant
A soaring, dramatic timber building, on the water's edge, decorated with fine Cook Islands art and handicrafts. Te Vaka Restaurant is the main dining area at The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa. Decorated with elegantly hand-carved Oe (paddles), Te Vaka also features some of the resorts signature hand-crafted lighting, and lovingly made Tivaevae. The long outdoor deck, with tables and chairs, sits over the water, allowing you to witness firsthand the diverse marine life swimming through the crystal clear waters.
Te Vaka is home to many of the Resorts award-winning shows, including the Legends of Polynesia Night, and the Fire Dance Show. Each morning, you will enjoy a tropical buffet breakfast, or a selection from the full cooked breakfast menu. Te Vaka's dramatic architecture and open-air feel help to bring the nature and beauty that is Aroa Beach indoors.
Captain As Beandy’ch Bar & Grill
Casual dining experience with a large diverse menu. Named after the famous Captain Andy who's home still stands across from The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa, the bar and grill have taken on the personality of it's namesake: relaxed, fun, and appreciative of the simple island lifestyle. Simple starters and salads go great with some of the creative house specials. Seafood dishes are plenty and the selections from the char-grill are simply mouth-watering.
The All-Day menu is available from 11:00am to 9:00pm, and is a great alternative for those seeking a relaxed, casual, poolside dining experience.
Tree Tops Verandah Room
Boasting a fantastic view of the pool, ocean, and grounds, the Treetops Veranda Room is a special dining location for select groups and meetings. This private dining area is available for wedding parties, groups, and small parties, and has its own private bar. Sliding doors may be closed, allowing for privacy and seclusion, or be opened to allow the outdoors in. The perfect spot for meetings, Treetops can be transformed into an ideal meeting room, complete with projectors, white boards, TV, DVD and more. However, it is the ideal spot to enjoy a cocktail party and dinner for your own private group.
Reef Fish Café
Great option for private group dining is The Rarotongan’s Reef Fish Café, set beside the Open Kitchen. Lining the sides of the Reef Fish Café are handmade designer lights which pay homage to the jewel-coloured tropical fishes found in the Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve.
When not being used for private functions the Reef Fish Café provides a relaxed island-style setting for all restaurant guests to dine in and … enjoy!
Hibiscus Hut
Great option for inexpensive snacks is the Hibiscus Hut located poolside beside the Games Lounge inside The Rarotongan. You can either grab-and-go or relax at one of the Hut’s casual tables in front of the flat-screen TV as you catch up on the latest sporting event, enjoy a laugh watching an oldie-but-goodie comedy, or enjoy watching friends or family battle it out over table tennis or the pool table. When you’ve got things to see and places to go, it’s good to know the Hibiscus Hut has some yummy options readily available to help fill that gap until dinner.
