Hawaii

The state of Hawaii is located in the US, not on the mainland, but in the central Pacific Ocean. You may be thinking – oh! - Not another tropical beach island, but Hawaii differs from the rest of the Pacific. From the Gold and pink sunsets overlooking a deserted beach, the soft strumming of romantic Hawaiian music or the sweet fragrance of tropical flowers. The Hawaiian Islands are perfect for your Wedding Destination.
People/Culture/Money
Being a state of the USA, English is mainly spoken although a few locals still know the mother Polynesian language. Such diversity coexists, from the commercial shopping strips of Waikiki to the quaint volcanic tracks of Hilo Island. Banging Drums can be heard along the beach, as the locals perform a fire twirling show to accompany your Luau dinner banquet. Entertainment can be found at each step, whether you’re a surf enthusiast or a scenic buff.

Whether to weather?
Basically there are two distinct seasons in Hawaii. Summer is May to October and winter is November to April which is also the rainy season. As the rain and weather is quite localised, you will always find a sunny spot on the other side of the island! Sunny side up hey?
Say Aloha to Hawaii
Getting to Hawaii is very easy. Direct flights operate out of Sydney daily with airlines such as Qantas, Hawaiian Airlines and Jetstar. Inter-island flights are very very cheap and can easily get you to Maui, Kauai and Hilo.
Do I need documents?
Every international departure from Australia will require you to have a current Australian passport with a minimum of 6 months validity remaining from your return date into Australia. If you are traveling on a foreign passport, a visa may be required so you will need to contact Wedding Destinations to check your status.
Hawaii’s regions
Oahu is the main Island of Hawaii, where the major town of Honolulu is located. Waikiki is the main district of Honolulu and where most resorts on Oahu can be found. Shopping and restaurants are well catered for here, as well as some great beach front properties and fantastic surf spots.
Maui is your next destination, less comercialised and crowded than Oahu, this little beauty is renowned for the spectacular scenery and mystical Mt Haleakala. Most visitors hire a car and drive themselves around this must do destination.
Hilo- a rare example of a Hawaiian plantation town, surviving still. Active volcanoes exist and are a major draw card to this area.

Why we love Hawaii
Immerse yourself in the “Spirit of Aloha”. Aloha is a Hawaiian word commonly heard as a greeting, but it also means love, kindness and compassion. Learn to say it freely and you will begin to discover it’s power and it’s gift for making friends. For your wedding day you could choose an oceanfront ceremony as the Hawaiian sun sinks into the glittering pacific. Get whisked away in your private helicopter to a secluded tropical location. An adventurous “under the sea” scuba diving ceremony, or a traditional ceremony in a quaint historical church. The locations are endless. Soothing clear waters, gentle warm trade winds and sparkling waterfalls define the landscape of Hawaii. Can you imagine a more romantic place than Hawaii to say I do to your loved one?
Honeymoons in Hawaii
A quick flight over to another island is ideal. Alternatively you can travel on to the mainland of the USA and head to the flashing lights of Vegas or visit Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. You could also do a cruise into Mexico or splash about in the islands of the Caribbean.
