Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas!

The city of sound, lights, colour and Cha-Ching! Casinos line the place where you can make or break your bank and Elvis impersonators act as celebrants 'only in Vegas'. Situated down south in the state of Nevada, USA, like an El-Dorado in the desert, the glitz and glamour of this amazing metropolis will leave your head spinning with options!

People

The Entertainment Capital of the World houses some 6,000,000 people who thrive off the tourists and gaming enthusiasts. Show girls with their itty-bitty outfits (cover your eyes Mr!) tap away across the stage and mini circus’s are performed in the casino hotels. Big Hair and gold chains adorn the glamorous people, like a culture of its own; over the top and oozing of money.

English is spoken in every corner so no language barriers here. Remember if you are hiring a car for your trip, driving is on the right hand side of the road!

What to do in Vegas

Stage shows and theatres are big attractions in Vegas along with Magic shows as well, not to mention the never-ending nightlife of gamblers and clubber's. Vegas is a Gourmet Mecca of global cuisines for you to sample, and the Nordstrom and Boulevard malls will ensure you literally shop till you drop. If animals are your thing, then you can’t miss the Lion’s Habitat at the MGM Grand Casino. The flamingo habitat and numerous aquariums featuring sharks and dolphins, something I don’t think you’d expect in the desert! But anything goes in Vegas. History buffs will enjoy the many museums and educational exhibitions from art to archeology.

And of course the ladies can pamper themselves at the many tip-top spas and beauty parlors scattered about, while the fellas can hit the tee at a golfing green.

The weather

Very little rain falls over Vegas as Nevada is desert country. December to February is the winter months with temps averaging about 14 degrees Celsius. June, July and August see extreme temperatures averaging over 40 degrees! With the rest of the year generally being warm, 25 degrees minimum and 35 degrees max.
