The Cocktail Reception
This is a great idea for your guests, so they won’t be waiting while you have your photos done, (and a moment for them to rave about how amazing the ceremony was!)
Cocktail Receptions can be held at the Wedding Pavilion before moving on to dinner.
One hour of Canapés - 8 pieces per person
Starting from RM20 (AUD$9) per person
There is a huge range of hot and cold canapés. And we can tailor make canapé menu depending on budget or you can choose from the list yourself.
The Wedding Dinner Reception
The party starts at approximately 7.00pm. A Private dinner reception means you can feast on sumptuous food at an exclusive set up in either the lush gardens or beach at sunset
Lovely little gazebos at The Coast Restaurant can cater up to 30 guests and are a great option to really make the diner party special. Although only set menus can be used if you opt for this.
The weather doesn’t care for your wedding (do an anti-rain dance before!), but the Shangri-La do. A function room can be used as a back up in case it pours rain.
There is no standard procedure to the night so we can tailor make it to suit your requirements. A sample procedure would go something like this:

Set Menu A is a 3 course dinner at RM160 (AUD$72) per person
Set Menu B is a 4 course dinner at RM200 (AUD$90) per person
Set Menu C is a 4 course dinner at RM300 (AUD$136) per person
Alternatively you may want to try a buffet where guests can pile their plate! Or the Malaysian style dinner incorporating the finest fresh local food. You can have a private set up located in either the manicured gardens or on the beautiful beach.

For a private outdoor event amongst the stars you will need to have a minimum of 20 guests for a set dinner and 35 people for a buffet dinner.
The Shangri-La has some fantastic chefs who can whip up a menu to suit any tastes and budget.
The Cake

The cakes generally feed 8 – 10 people.
The Drinks
The cost of wine in Malaysia will blow a hole in your pocket! The government places a 400% tax on their wines so what you would pay for a $10 el cheapo bottle in Oz, will set you back around AUD$80 in Malaysia. You can bring your own wine and pay a corkage (see below), but be careful – you are only allowed to bring in 1 litre of alcohol per person into Malaysia. Quick tip: Buy your bubbles before you go and hand out to guests to put in their luggage.
Corkage Charges:
Wine and Champagne – RM40 (AUD$18) per 750ml bottle
Standard liquor/spirit – RM60 (AUD$27) per 700ml / 750ml bottle
Premium liquor/spirit – RM80 (AUD$36) per 700ml / 750ml bottle

You can also decide to run a bar tab which will be charged to your room account. If you do this you can choose what sort of alcohol is included in the tab.
