The Drinks

The cost of wine in Thailand will blow a hole in your pocket! The government places a 400% tax on their wines so what you would pay for a $10 el cheapo bottle in Oz, will set you back around AUD$80 in Thailand. You can bring your own wine and pay a corkage of THB770 (AUD$27) per bottle. But be careful – you are only allowed to bring in 1 litre of alcohol per person into Thailand. Quick tip: Buy your bubbles before you go and hand out to guests to put in their luggage.
