My Dad told me that he wasn’t going to my wedding unless it was something different (and he wasn’t going to help pay for it either) an overseas wedding seemed like a great idea, and it was!!
The best thing was that BOTH sides of your family and friends get to know each other before the actual wedding day, We didn’t have to worry about seating plans as much as everyone knew everyone by the time it all happened! It was really just a big PARTY!
We gave all the guests over a year’s notice – so they were happy they were getting a holiday out of it!
My one piece of advice to any prospective destination wedding bride is Just make sure you are prepared to just go with the flow of things. Its not the same as being completely in control here, you cant go and chose what flowers you want, what setting you want, its all a bit up in the air until you actually arrive at your chosen destination. You defiantly will not be able to be a bridzilla.
My wedding exceeded all my expecatations and then some. The staff at Wedding Destinations where really helpful and it was, overall, quite a stress free experience.
