Tahiti is often referred to as
“The Island of Love”. 118 gorgeous islands are
scattered across five archipelagos. The capital and gateway
to the outer islands is Papeete on the island of Tahiti.
The island of Moorea is located only a 10-minute flight
or 30-minute ferry away. It is a stunning jewel of jagged
peaks, rising majestically from a sapphire sea. Further
away lies Bora Bora known throughout the world as one of
the most romantic islands on the planet. A quite unspoiled
haven.
Without
a doubt, Tahiti is the most romantic place on earth. It
was made for lovers. With warm tropical breezes by day and
romantic star lit nights, it’s truly a lover’s
paradise. Tahiti is the idyllic setting for a wedding, renewal
of vows or honeymoon.
Although
there are many different types of ceremonies, they traditionally
begin with the bride and groom being treated as a Tahitian
Prince and Princess. In their bungalow, the “Mamas”
dress the bride and groom. The bride is treated to a soothing
massage with Monoi Oil. Meanwhile the groom is taken to
a small islet by canoe, painted with tattoos and given a
crown of tropical leaves. The bride is taken through the
island, sitting in a chair and carried by Maohi warrior
in accordance with tradition.
The ceremony is often followed by
a romantic sunset cruise where the bride and groom continue
to be serenaded by soft Tahitian music. It’s a once
in a lifetime experience that can only be found in Tahiti
and Her Islands.
